The spring citywide garage sale sign moratorium runs from April 8-22, 2026. This moratorium allows for the placement of garage sale signs without permits. 

• This moratorium shall not authorize any person to display signage on private property without the permission of the property owner, occupant, tenant or other representative having legal authority over the property.
• In instances where signage imposes a hazard to public safety, the City shall maintain the authority to cause removal and disposal of signage.
• Signage shall not obstruct or impede the view of intersections, traffic, pedestrians or street signage.
• Signage shall not be affixed to utility poles, signs, hydrants, utility barricades or guy wires.
• Signage shall not be placed on public owned property.
• Signage shall not be accentuated with strobes, strand lighting or other attention getting devices that provide illumination.

This event is for city residents only. Please have items at the curb by 6:30 a.m. Small items should be contained in boxes or bags. Refrigerators or freezers must be emptied, with doors removed, locked or steel banded and turned face down. Doors or lids of other large appliances should be secured. Items not picked up: brush or limbs; regular household trash; and hazardous waste, tires or batteries - this includes paint, thinners, varnishes, pesticides, oil, gasoline motors, etc. Contact Miami County Sanitary Landfill at 913-294-2674 about disposing of those items. No demolition or construction material will be picked up. Commercial/business accounts are not eligible for citywide clean-up and that includes Rockville Ridge and Wea Creek apartment locations.
