September is National Voter Registration Month

A graphic depicting voter registration.

National Voter Registration Day is celebrated the fourth Tuesday of September so Sept. 22 this year. Since the observation began in 2012, almost 3 million people have registered to vote on that day alone. New voters and those who have changed their address or last name must register by Oct. 13. Registration for the Nov. 3 general election closes on that date. A current driver’s license or state-issued identification card is required to register to vote.
All Miami County residents, including City of Louisburg residents, may register to vote at the Miami County Clerk & Election Office in the county administration building in Paola, 201 S. Pearl.
Online voter registration is also available through the state Secretary of State’s office.
