While Louisburg City Hall has closed to the public at this time, City services remain active and we encourage all citizens and businesses to work together to get through these trying times.
The Louisburg Fire, Police and Public Works departments are still maintaining all services while also doing everything possible to keep employees safe. The Marias Des Cygnes Public Utility Authority that treats the City’s water supply continues to operate on a normal basis. Fire department personnel are taking extra precaution to avoid exposure to the coronavirus.
The City Utility Department will be following Gov. Laura Kelly’s orders to not shut off any utility during the state’s emergency declaration. The City provides gas, water and sewer to customers.
The Building & Zoning Department is available by phone at 837-5811 with all permits available online at the City’s website: www.louisburgkansas.gov.
City Court will continue to meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at City Hall. No money will be taken at these court dates but can be paid by mail or by phone. Continuance slips will be mailed to the defendant after the court date. Questions and payments should be directed to the court clerk at 913-837-5217. Continuances and standard traffic ticket amendments may be done over the phone with the court clerk. Contact with court and city personnel will be limited as much as possible.
The Planning Commission meeting for March 25 is canceled. The City Council will still meet April 6. If a change in meeting protocol is needed, that information will be publicized on the City’s website and Facebook page in the week prior to the meeting.
Residents are encouraged to watch the City’s website and Facebook for more information in the coming days.
