Public Works I / Wastewater Operator I – Louisburg, Kansas
This position is responsible for maintenance of the City water, sanitary sewer, streets, and natural gas systems. Preferred applicant should have knowledge of pumps, motors and controls. Wastewater licensing and/or CDL is a plus. Performs semi-skilled work maintenance of the city’s wastewater plant and may include maintaining the city utilities, streets, parks, and the water and wastewater systems. This employee should possess strong technical and mental aptitude, and effective communication, organizational, and public relation skills. Employee will be required to obtain Class II Wastewater Operator certification within two years and Class IV within four years of employment. This is a full-time position that will report to the Wastewater Plant Lead once the plant is built in 2020 and Public Works Supervisor until the plant is built. Employee must reside within a 20 minute drive time to Louisburg. The City offers a competitive compensation package including paid employee health, vision and dental insurance, paid leave, and Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS). Hourly $15 to $17 DOQ (will take additional consideration if applicant has any wastewater and/or water certifications). Drug/Alcohol screening required.
