How to Claim Items from Centennial Time Capsule
If someone wishes to claim an item from the centennial time capsule, those items will be available at City Hall beginning 7 am Monday, Sept. 10. Items will be returned to owners or their heirs on a first-come, first-serve basis. No items will be reserved prior to Sept. 10. To claim an item, interested persons should ask for Jean Carder, the City’s communications coordinator, on Sept. 10 or after. All items should be claimed by Oct. 1. Distribution may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
Donate items for Sesquicentennial Time Capsule
A sesquicentennial time capsule will be buried at 4 pm Tuesday, Sept. 18 at the Louisburg Cemetery. The Louisburg Historical Society is organizing the time capsule. Donations are being accepted for the sesquicentennial time capsule and can be dropped off at City Hall until noon, Friday, Sept. 14. Donations may include photos, letters, newspapers, clothing and other non-perishable mementos. Items should be labeled with the person donating the item and sealed, if necessary. Donations will become the property of the Louisburg Historical Society.
