Freedom Fest

Freedom Fest is the annual Fourth of July celebration at Lewis-Young Park. The event is organized by Freedom Fest volunteers and sponsored by the City of Louisburg. The event takes place each Fourth of July. Check out the list of volunteer opportunities below.


Door Prize Volunteer
The volunteer(s) will ask area businesses for door prizes to be distributed at the event. They should be comfortable asking for and collecting the door prizes in the 6-8 weeks leading up to July 4.

Door Prize Table Volunteer(s)
One to two volunteers are needed to man the door prize table during the Freedom Fest. Hours will be 5:30-dusk. Must be able to interact with passersby to urge them to register for the drawings. Should be outgoing and friendly.

Shuttle Driver
Must be 18 years old and able to drive a utility vehicle. This volunteer will drive people to and from their cars, especially those with mobility issues, so they can get into the entertainment area. Must be available from 5:30 to 10:45 p.m.

Set-up/Clean-up
Any number of volunteers are needed to help set up and clean up for the event. This will include physical activities such as picking up trash, moving tables and assisting in other ways. Set-up will occur the afternoon of the Fourth with clean-up occurring after the event is over at approximately 10:15 p.m.
