To make a police report or request an officer for a non-emergency event, such as a dog running loose, a parking or noise complaint or a vehicle lock-out, please call 913-837-2300. That number will ring at the Miami County Dispatcher who will notify the officer to respond.
Police assistance during COVID-19, including police reports
Residents who are experiencing an emergency or urgent need for an officer to respond, should call 911. If someone needs to file a police report after the fact or need an Officer for a non-emergency reason, please call the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at 913-294-4444 and provide contact information, phone number and reason for needing an officer. The dispatcher will take the information and ask them some COVID-19 screening questions and then notify an officer. The officer will either contact the individual by phone or respond to the location. Individuals responding to the Police Station to file a police report or seeking information will be limited to the public lobby area, and only under limited situations will individuals be brought into the operations area. During the Police Station’s normal office hours of 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, individuals may call our main phone number at (913) 837-3191 to speak to someone for informational or administrative matters.
Residents in need of fingerprinting services may contact the Police Department at (913) 837-3191 to make an appointment between 12:30-4:30 Thursday and Friday afternoons.

- No charge for USD 416 educators
- Non-USD 416 educators are charged according to their residency
UTV owners may purchase a tag for their vehicle, which allows them to drive it on city streets. Those who wish to tag their UTV, should contact the Police Department at 913-837-3191 to make an appointment for the inspection and to complete the application to receive a tag. County residents may sign up for emergency alerts for situations like weather, traffic or other incidents through Everbridge, Miami County's emergency notification service.
